New Wendig flash fiction challenge

Chuck Wendig issued the challenge, I'm taking it up. Pick a subgenre, a conflict and a must feature item and off you go. Head over here to see the parameters of this week's one, I'll just share my results of spinning the random.org virtual wheel.

Subgenre: 9. Steampunk. I'm delighted by this. I'm bloody glad I missed teenage Noir.

Conflict: 5. Enemy at the Gates! Again, brilliant. Ideas are forming.

Must Feature: 2. A Forbidden Book.

So, I need to write a 1,000 word flash fiction Steampunk where there are enemies at the gate and a Forbidden book needs to feature. This could be fun! Now to ensure it's actually good.
